TO HONOR EARTH DAY 2019 EARTH COMMUNITY TO DISCUSS DIRT

PAGOSA  EARTH  COMMUNITY  WILL  STUDY  DIRT  IN HONOR OF  EARTH DAY 2019

Pagosa Springs will celebrate Earth Week from Monday, April 22 (EARTH DAY 2019)  to Saturday, April 28, with a finale on Saturday of a day of events at PLPOA.

The Pagosa Earth Community will be doing a Pre- Earth week activity by having 2 discussions of the YES  MAGAZINE SPRING ISSUE CALLED  DIRT on Tuesday, April 16.  The first discussion will be from 1:30 – 3PM.  Another discussion, especially to include working people, will be from 6-7 PM.  Both will be at the Ruby Sission Library Large Meeting Room.  Coffee, teas & a treat will be served.

“Somewhere in time, humans’ natural relationship to soil became broken. This issue of YES  MAGAZINE explores how communities are reconnecting to the earth and fixing the damage, turning lifeless dirt into fertile soil. By returning to a culture that loves its soil, we can grow healthy food and make it available to everyone. In turn, healthy soils will heal our bodies and the planet. It’s time to get dirty.”   You may get an idea that will change your life.

Pagosa has an amazing head start with our Growing Domes beside the San Juan River.  This issue may help us take our growing to the next level.   We will have extra copies of this amazing magazine for sale &  free copies of other Yes Magazine issues, while they last.      We hope to see you!!

The Earth Community is just beginning a very meaningful project in Pagosa by contacting a specific group of people  who have lost a loved one & would like to take part in a special  memorial for their loved one in one of our parks. The cost, at a minimum will start at about $1000 and could go up to $20,000 for those who could spend that amount. Individual parts will be a memorial for individuals, but when all put together there will be a most fitting tribute.  The Earth Community will not be handling any money, but will be gathering the participants, coordinating the plans, working with the company and supervising the construction.  If you are interested call Joan 303-995-2888 or talk with me at one of our gatherings. You will be hearing more about this wonderful addition to our community.  It will greatly honor your loved one’s memory and touch the lives of children to adults in & visiting Pagosa.
